What Is The Value Of Your Compliments?

Keep this in mind whenever you are trying to figure out why a compliment is necessary. When you do not give out compliments, nobody knows what their value is to you and nobody knows what makes you appreciative. When that happens, people will tend to either thank you are unappreciative or you do not care, which both will ultimately lead to you missing out on an opportunity to impact someone’s life in a positive way. When you give out compliments, people can see what they mean to you and what makes you appreciative. When this happens, you will see that people will respond back to you and you will have that opportunity to impact that person in ways you cannot imagine.

Giving out compliments is something I love doing as much as I can. I also understand the value of whenever I do not give them. Sometimes I can go overboard with them, but whenever I can make a person smile and feel good, it is worth it in my book. I am reminded of how important compliments are to my wife when it comes to cooking.

My wife is a great cook, and I love just about everything she fixes. My problem in the beginning of our marriage was that even though I love her meals, I never gave her a compliment. It did not make her feel good because she did not know externally how I felt about her cooking and she thought that I was unappreciative of her cooking warm meals for me.

It was not until she pulled me aside to talk about it and expressed how she felt about before I realized that I was doing more harm than good by either throwing out “it’s okay”,”it’s fine”, or nothing at all. I took that to heart and started to compliment more tries even harder to cook even better next time. This all equals up to a well-fed and happy man!

Do not be afraid to compliment someone just because. There is no limit as to how many compliments you have to give, but when you do give them, make sure it is from the heart so that they can see the gratitude and appreciation you have for them. Let’s remember that even though compliments are free to give, the value it gives to you and others are well worth it.
