“Every champion was once a contender that refused to give up.” -Rocky Balboa
Keep this in mind whenever you find yourself at a crossroads determining if you should go on to achieve your goal being a champion or give up when things get tough. If you give up, you lose out on your chance of being the champion of your goals and dreams. This will lead to you feeling empty and remorseful about not finishing what you started. When you choose to fight on, you give yourself a chance at figuring out what you need to do to win and be a champion in your life. This will lead to you feeling tough and confident about bouncing back and giving your best effort when it comes to the various fights in your life.
My ultimate line in life is that quitters never win and winners never quit. I believe and know this because I have never met quitters that have won, but I have met winners who never quit. This reminds of my wife and her effort to go to the Navy Ball last year.
When she started out in late 2014, she wanted to drop down to get into an awesome dress and go to our first Navy Ball together. The tasked seemed like a long shot, but she was able to jump in and go for it. There were points where she could have given up and turned back with the setbacks and challenges that she had going on at the time, but she did not.
She dug deeper and took morning walks, walked 10,000 steps daily, and even worked out at home. After all that work, she drop 50 pounds, got into the stunning dress she wanted, and was able to be my date for the Navy Ball. I was so proud of her because she proved that on that night, she was a champion and I was happy to show her off.
You have the ability to be a champion in your life, but you cannot give up the fight. Continue to push yourself and believe in what you are doing because that will carry you through the hard times. The moment you give up is the moment you lose it all, and it is hard get back up and try again when that happens. Let’s remember that you cannot be a champion by quitting and never trying, but you can be a champion fighting and never giving up.
