What Will Your Next Yes or No Mean? (3 Days 3 Quotes Challenge: Day #2)

I was nominated to complete this challenge by Matters of Living.  I am a fan of the positivity and fun that comes from the work on the page. I am appreciative of the challenge because I love writing challenges of all types!

Before I begin, I want to offer the challenge today to three more people because I know they can deliver positive quotes to make you feel good about life.

It is now time to get into today challenge and inspiration for day #2. Here is today’s quote brought to you by myself.

“As different as your yeses and nos are, what keeps them together is you.” -Michael J. Fite

Keep this in mind when you are trying to understand the connection you have between your yeses and nos.

The words “yes” and “no” carry great power because they can either inspire creativity and positivity or bring boring and negativity. You have that power inside of you because those are two of your most powerful words.

In order to know what your yeses and no will mean to someone or something, you must start with the first question below:

Are the words “yes” and “no” spoken equally?

According to World English, here are some stats that you should take to heart every time you offer up a “yes” or “no” about anyone or anything.

  1. The word “no” is the 84th most used word in the English language.
  2. The word “yes” is the world 486th most used word in the English language.

When you at how often one is used over the other in the English language, it lets you know how easy it can be for you to say no versus yes.

Do all “yeses” and “nos” have equal and consistent meaning?

If you are wondering this very thing, here are three major facts that you need to know:

  1. Not every “yes” and “no” will mean the same due to the situations and circumstances that are involved.
  2. There are cases where a “yes” can actually mean “no” and vice-versa depending on the conversation.
  3. The frequency in which you say “yes” and “no” will vary.

Whether you say “yes” or “no” to someone or something, the equality and consistency will vary from response to response.

What will your next “yes” or “no” mean to someone or something?

Here are some things you need to know when you are thinking about this question:

  1. You will never know how someone or something will take your next “yes” or “no.”
  2. You cannot fully control or determine how someone or something will take your next “yes” or “no.”
  3. Your next “yes” or “no” response can either have a short-term or long-term effect on someone or something.

The bottom line is that the only way you will know for sure about saying “yes” or “no” is  to simply say it.

Let’s remember that whether you say “yes” or “no” to someone or something, make sure you understand what and/or whom you are saying it to so that there is no miscommunication in the meaning.

In my question section, I only have the three questions above for you to give some thought about how you choose to spread your yeses and nos. You may choose to share your answers or keep them to yourself, but I want you understand that it is important to understand that your yeses and nos can impact yourself and other people around you.
