Who Will You Surround Yourself With?

Keep this in mind whenever you are trying to figure out the people you want to have on your team in life. When you have people who bring you down and keep you in the same spot in life, you remain where you are and never go after anything better. It can mess with your mind and cause you to have a bad attitude about life. When you surround yourself with people who are where you want to be and can be positive influences in your life, you will move forward and achieve what you want and even more. It will make you have a positive outlook on your life in ways you cannot even imagine.

In life, you cannot surround yourself with people who are either limited in their thinking or beliefs, have not accomplished what you want out of life, or simply do not want to see you succeed. If they are limited in their thinking or beliefs, they cannot help you think or believe anything outside of what they know and see in life. If they have not accomplished what you want out of life, they cannot help you because they do not know what it takes nor can they guide through the ups and downs. If they simply do not want you succeed, they cannot help you most of all because they will say and do things that will sabotage your mind to where you start saying and doing the same things as they do, which will bring doom to anything you say or do.

 

I have witnessed these three types of people while serving in the military.  I had people who could not envision me lasting in the military because they could not believe or think that I could do this. I have had people who would advise me on what I should be doing, but never been where I wanted to go nor have they done it themselves. I also had people who did not want to see me succeed for their own personal reasons.

I will say what kept me from those type of people were a handful of people who actually either believed that I could do it, been where I want to go, have done it themselves, and genuinely wants me to succeed. I do not know where I would be now had they had not come into my life at various points to lift me up and guide me during three of my hardest and darkest moments in my military experience. It is because of their desire to see me succeed and their confidence in me that I want to go out and be the best at what I do.

You can achieve your goals and dreams, but you need the right people around you to lift you up. You got to rid your team and circle of people who are negative influences in your life and replace them with positive influences who will help you move to where you want to be in life. There is no place for anyone who wants to bring you down or keep you where you are because they are wasting your space, time, and energy by keeping you away from what you are destined to accomplish in life. Let’s remember that you and the people you surround yourself with is like a captain and his crew: when the crew is negative, the captain cannot achieve his mission, but when the crew is positive, the captain can achieve his mission.
