What are the ingredients of a dilemma?

In order to deal with a dilemma, you got to know what makes up the dilemma. There are a variety of factors, but here are the five main ingredients when it comes to you and your dilemmas:

  1. First Ingredient: You
    • At the center of your dilemma is you because you are the one who is faced with your dilemmas.
    • With you, the dilemma will never find your life.
  2. Second Ingredient: The Situation
    • Every dilemma has a situation, whether it about things or people, that is meant to be challenging for you to look and figure out that will require much more than your normal toolbox of reasoning and rationalization.
  3. Third Ingredient: Your Options
    • Depending on the situation, you are faced with anywhere between two and an infinite number of options when it comes to your dilemma.
    • The options are meant for you really think it out because there are consequences attached to each option.
  4. Fourth Ingredient: The Decision/Answer
    • Every dilemma needs a decision or answer from you as to what you will choose to do.
    • Your decision or answer can be verbal, physical, or even non-verbal with you being silent.
  5. The Fifth and Final Ingredient: The Result/Consequence
    • Based on your answer, your dilemma now becomes solved and a result or consequence will come from it.
    • The result or consequence may be either easy or hard to deal with depending on how tough either the dilemma, the options, or decision was for you.

In knowing the ingredients, you are now able to see the dilemma for what it is worth.

What makes a dilemma difficult to deal with and solve?

Not every dilemma you deal with is meant to be easy to deal with and solve. Here are a few things that can make your dilemma difficult on you.

  1. Yourself
    • A dilemma can be complicated by your thoughts and feelings about the situation.
    • You may wind up over thinking an option or rushing to a decision if you are not careful with handling the dilemma at hand.
  2. People or things involved.
    • A dilemma can be difficult when it involves things or people whom you share some type of connection with.
    • Those people or things can force you to compromise your integrity and make your decision based on loyalty and favoritism.
  3. Time
    • A dilemma may prove to be stressful when time becomes a major factor in your decision-making process
    • If you do not use your time wisely, you may wind up rushing a decision or probably not make a decision due to time running out.
  4. The Options/Decision/Consequences Phase
    • You do not want to deal with a dilemma that comes with a difficult set of options and consequences that can have an effect on you, something, or someone else that you care about.
    • This can force you probably decide not to deal with the dilemma, but the funny thing is that by not dealing with your dilemma, you are already making a decision that will come with an even bigger consequence later on.

The dilemma obviously comes with its set of challenges, but you got to face and deal with them head on.

How can you deal with your dilemma?

The dilemmas in which you face need you to deal with, and I will share with you how you can not only just deal with them, but solve them!

  1. Stop running away from your dilemma!
    • If you are running from what you do not want to deal with, it will keep following you and getting bigger.
    • Just look at the dilemma that you have and just handle it without fear and worry.
  2. Get to know your dilemma!
    • You cannot handle and deal with your dilemma if you do not have the information.
    • Take the time to understand your dilemma by doing research on the situation and ask questions to the people involved and other people who understands your dilemma.
  3. Understand your options!
    • Every dilemma face has options and you must understand what all of your options are.
    • Do not be afraid to consider every option to available to you and the consequences involved with each one so that you are prepared to make your decision and live with the consequences involved.
  4. Make your decision and live with the consequences!
    • This is the hardest part because the consequences may prove to be too much to handle for the person making the decision and everyone that is affected by it.
    • When you feel like you have enough information to make your decision, have the confidence to make your decision, have the faith in yourself that you made the right decision, and have the strength to live with the consequences involved.

If you can do this, you will find it easier to deal with any dilemma that you will face in your life.

I encourage you to take the time to look at the dilemma that you have in your life. When you take the time to learn about them, you will find that although they are different based on the situation, you will find that in order to solve your dilemma, you got to make a decision and live with the consequences. You nor the people involved may not like the decision and/or consequences, but once everything is done about the dilemma, you cannot go back to change it. 1. Nice formula but there is a dilemma with this also. Despite a logical formula most people will always make a decision based on how they feel rather then what is the logically course of action, hence they make the un-wise choice which will either put them in dilemma after dilemma….
