How Do You Find Simplicity In Your Complicated Life?

Keep this in mind when trying to understand how to deal with being complicated.

I feel before we need to define and answer a few things before we can find out how to see simplicity in your complicated life.

What does it mean to be complicated?

Merriam-Webster defines complicated as:

• Hard to understand, explain, or deal with : having many parts or steps.

Being complicated is just something that comes with life. If anyone, anything, or even yourself become difficult, complex, or forces people to do a bit more work, the term complicated is used.

What does simplicity mean?

Merriam-Webster defines simplicity as:

• The quality of being easy to understand or use.

• The state or quality of being plain or not fancy or complicated.

• Something that is simple or ordinary but enjoyable.

Simplicity is what most people wish to find in everyone, everything, and even in themselves. If simplicity existed, then there would be no need to read, guess, or think as much about life.

I will take on the next set of questions to show that there can be simplicity within a complicated answer. In your complicated life, there is simplicity and you will see below.

Why is your life complicated?

I will offer up two answers for you:

Complicated answer: Your life gets complicated with each day that you live. You have responsibilities that you have to take care of. You have people you must deal with. You have to try to explain yourself when nobody understands. You do things that make no sense to anyone else but yourself. There is so much to being you that it seems like nobody understand what it means to be you. There may not be one particular answer that may truly describe what makes your life complicated

Simple answer: It is complicated because your life is unique and different from everyone else.

Does life have to be complicated?

I will offer up two more answers:

Complicated answer: Life is complicated by all of us, so it really depends on all of us. We all do something that makes life as a whole seem complicated. It does not have to be that way if we do not want it be, but it comes at the price of us not having things that make us unique or different. You would be doing and not questioning why or what is the meaning behind you doing things in life.

Simple answer: Life does not have to be complicated, but without complications, we would never learn to deal with people and things outside of ourselves that are different from us.

How do you find simplicity in your complicated life?

I will offer up two more answers:

Complicated answer: You can do some self-study, go to counseling, ask somebody, do some meditating, and a host of other things. You can eliminate people and things that take up and waste space in your life. You can stop spending a lot of time thinking and waiting and more time doing. You can do so many things to find simplicity that it can be as complicated as spring cleaning at your house.

Simple answer: Appreciate your life for what is, remove the people and things that hold you back, ask and answer questions when it comes to you and others, and live your life to the fullest.

I will be the first to tell you that one of the beauties of life is being complicated. Without complicated lives, we would not have individuality nor personality. It is true that complicated people and things forces us to think a little more and can confuse us at times, but if we take the time to ask questions and try to understand outside of ourselves, we start to find simplicity.

I encourage you to appreciate your complicated life and take the time to learn about someone else’s complicated life. Granted we all have something different, but in order to find what makes us simple, we can learn about ourselves through each other. You will find that the simplicity of being complicated is your desire for someone to either understand you or to help you understand yourself. Let’s remember that in our complicated lives, the simplicity we seek comes from our ability to learn, think, and appreciate; without it, we would still live complicated lives.
