I am a simply guy about one mission: spreading opportunities and inspiration to others. Since 1981, I have experienced a life that has had its ups and downs. I have been told a lot of times that I cannot and should not, but I always find myself defying logic. It is not because I wanted to show disrespect towards others, but I always believed that if I tried hard enough, I could make things happen.
A person with the following should probably realize that he would not make it in the world:
- He was born with a speech and hearing defect.
- He was raised mostly by a single parent who had to sometimes work two jobs at a time.
- He spent most of his life raised in public housing.
- He was kicked out of kindergarten because he could not formulate words.
- He had to go through seven years of speech classes.
- He was told a lot of times that his ideas were simply “crazy talk” and that “he does not know what he is talking about.”
I was presented with all of that as a kid, but I was fortunate to have mother, grandmother, and other mentors come along the way to inspire me and show me that I can achieve anything as long as I try. I will admit that at times, it was not easy because I would look at others and wonder why their road seem easier than mine, but when I reflect on it, I appreciate the road and why people where hard on me to succeed. They saw something in me that made them believe that I can overcome, and they were right all along.
Who am I today?
I am a Certified Life Coach and Certified Law of Attraction Practitioner who enjoys inspiring and motivating people to succeed. I am presently married to my wife, Fatimah, who has been by my side for 15 years and counting. I have two kids, Speranza (RIP) and Bordeaux, who both provide daily inspiration for me. I have a cat and a dog who are both funny but lovable like Lilo and Stitch. As far as my career goes, I am have been serving in the military for the past 12 years and counting, being allowed to see many places, motivate people, and learn quite a bit in the process. When you ask who I am, I am simply a guy who has been blessed with good things in life, and I am thankful for that.
What and why do I want to give back?
I want to give to the world what was given to me: inspiration, motivation, and opportunity. We all need someone to give us a little boost along the way to help motivate us to do the things that we were made to do. I want to pass it on to others because I can see where there is a need in the world to inspire at least one person to go after their dreams and succeed. I see where people often times get their dreams crushed by themselves or others before they even try. I feel that if you give a person the inspiration that they need, they will work towards becoming successful in what they do.
