Why Must You Let The Moments Come And Go?

“For every good moment, there is a bad moment. For every bad moment, there is a silver lining. And for every silver lining, there is…another good moment.” -Michael J. Fite

Keep this in mind when you are trying to figure out the cycle of life. This cycle reminds us that we are going to have good moments, bad moments and silver linings. The frequency of this vary from person to person, but I can assure you that everyone goes through this constantly.

You may wonder why am I telling you this?

“The issue about the moments is that people hold onto certain moments too long causing a person to be stuck in a past or current moment versus letting go and dealing with the next moment.” -Michael J. Fite

Let’s dig deeper into this:

Good Moments

  • It is good to experience good moments because of how they make us feel.
  • The problem with holding onto the good moments too long is that we develop a comfort zone to where we would be afraid of experiencing anything that would disturb that feeling.

Bad Moments

  • Most people do not like to experience bad moments because of the negative feelings and consequences that come from them, but at the same time, it is good to experience those same bad moments because we get an opportunity to see what is wrong with and around us.
  • The problem with holding onto the bad moments too long is that we start to develop a “woe is me” attitude, resentment, and hate towards life and people to where we would find ourselves wanting to give up or not even try on a lot of things in life.

Silver Linings

  • Silver linings are there for us to get the lesson and to move on to the next moment in our lives.
  • The problem with holding onto the silver lining too long is that we take too long to apply that silver moment causing that next moment to be delayed which means things do not occur in your life when they are originally supposed to be.

I encourage you deal with each moment and learn to let go at the appropriate time so that you can flow through the moments naturally. From each experience you let go on time, you gain even more moments to learn and grow from to where you are able to live an enriched life. I personally cannot tell you when you should let go because you will internally know for yourself when the time is right to let go, so it is a matter of you doing it. Let’s remember that in order to live an enriched life, you have to let the moments roll out on time because the moment you stop one from happening, you stop everything from happening as they should.

I must ask you three questions.

  1. Have you ever had a moment that you held onto too long?
  2. How did that affect you and other things in your life?
  3. Are you willing to let the moments come and go in your life?
